Learning opportunities for educators and youth leaders! Help spread the word.

Do you know any teachers?  How about others who work with youth groups, scouts or camp programs or even parents who volunteer in schools?  Would you like them to learn about forests and share this knowledge with young people?  Please encourage the teachers and educators you know to attend a Project Learning Tree workshop.  PLT provides professional development classes that give educators the tools, training and resources to bring forests into their classrooms.  With a goal of teaching how to think, not what to think, PLT aims to help students make informed and responsible decisions.  Workshop participants receive award-winning PLT activity guides, and participate in hands-on, minds-on activities to use with youth.  They interact with natural resource professionals and people who work in the woods.  Teachers have the option to earn recertification credit at workshops.  Idaho PLT offers several different classes on a variety of interesting and timely topics.  Workshops are planned this summer and fall in Coeur d’Alene, Athol, Lewiston, Orofino, McCall, Idaho City, Boise, Hailey, Stanley, Ririe and Idaho Falls.  Encourage the educators you know to attend!  A current schedule and workshop descriptions, along with registration information is available at www.idahoforests.org/plt1.htm.  Contact Michelle by e-mail at plt@idahoforests.org or call 208-334-4061.
